Antonio Malena
Antonio Moreno Carrasco (Antonio Malena) is recognized as a deep and soulful singer. His distinctive sound brings a feeling of ancestral times. His first professional appearance was as a child. At the age of nine, he participated in the series “Rito y Geografía del Cante” of RTVE Television, singing “Siguiriyas” (deep song) accompanied by the guitar of a 14 year old Moraito Chico.
From then on, his singing has taken him throughout the Spanish circuit of flamenco festivals and “peñas” (flamenco social clubs: aficionados only) in Spain and throughout the world.
Antonio is also known for his brilliant accompaniment for Dance. Singing for artists such as Manuela Carrasco, La Farruca, Antonio El Pipa and toured continuously with Maria Bermudez’ “Sonidos Gitanos.”
He then went on to create with Maria Del Mar Moreno, the highly recognized company “Jerez Puro”. Making him one of the few singers who make the transition singing for dancers as well as a soloist. He was recently seen performing with Maria Bermudez at the 52ª Fiesta de la Bulería, Jerez.
