When I think of the horn, my mind goes to powerful horn calls designed to rouse troops in the military, such as “Reveille.” For this project, I asked myself: what would the opposite of such a call sound like? I picture a foggy early morning scene at Venice beach, a lone horn player standing on a sand dune amidst the sea spray and the mist, addressing the call to no one in particular.
