Six members of the Guardado family are part of YOLA at Torres—with another having just graduated and one more starting next year. “If the Guardados don’t show up, we’re just going to cancel programming that day,” Program Manager DuMarkus Davis jokes. Belem Guardado shares how the experience of playing in an orchestra has shaped her kids’ lives for the better.
