LA Phil Musicians Perform “Romanze” by Fanny Mendelssohn
For the first time since the pandemic closed it last March, musicians performed on the stage of the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
Principal Concertmaster Martin Chalifour, Principal Second Violin Lyndon Johnston Taylor, Principal Violist Teng Li, and Principal Cellist Robert deMaine perform the “Romanze” from Fanny Mendelssohn’s String Quartet in E-flat at Walt Disney Concert Hall, marking the first time musicians took its stage since the start of COVID-19. Teng Li reflects on playing in the venue once again and on Mendelssohn’s music that she says carries a certain “darkness.”
