Nashville, TN (February 23, 2015) - The Hollywood Bowl, one of the leading outdoor music venues in the world, and the summer home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, was honored over the weekend at the 26th Annual Pollstar Concert Industry Awards at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN, as the Best Major Outdoor Concert Venue. This distinction marks the eleventh consecutive nomination and subsequent award for the iconic venue and re-confirms the Hollywood Bowl as a premiere destination for performers and audiences alike.

Renowned for its exquisite setting, the Hollywood Bowl plays host to a tremendous diversity of artists, from classical and pops to jazz, rock, and world music. During the 2014 season, the Hollywood Bowl concert series included performances by Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, Kristin Chenoweth, Janelle Monáe, Röyksopp and Robyn, Gloria Estefan, Jimmy Cliff, Herbie Hancock, Gladys Knight, Yo-Yo Ma, John Legend, Peter Frampton, Elvis Costello, Neutral Milk Hotel and Pixies, among many others. The team of Andrew Hewitt and Bill Silva also brought a star-studded line-up that included concerts from Billy Joel, Bruno Mars, James Taylor, Nine Inch Nails, Linkin Park, Drake and Lil Wayne, Kings of Leon and Blake Shelton.

"We are once again honored by Pollstar for recognizing the Hollywood Bowl as the best major outdoor concert venue in the country," said Gail Samuel, Chief Operating Officer of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association. “This acknowledgment by industry peers is an exceptional tribute to all of the hard work that goes into a Bowl season. We are grateful for our relationships with our presenting partners and for the ongoing support of the County of Los Angeles, and together look forward to another exciting summer season in 2015.”

The Pollstar Concert Industry Awards honor the best of the concert industry for their accomplishments. Nominees were selected by a cross section of international music business professionals and winners were determined by the international readership of Pollstar.
