Los Angeles, CA (September 17, 2015) – As part of the Immortal Beethoven festival, which features Gustavo Dudamel conducting the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela (SBSOV) in two cycles of Beethoven’s iconic nine symphonies, both orchestras will present community concerts and events throughout Los Angeles County. All events are free.
Los Angeles Philharmonic and Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA) Orchestra at Caroline’s LOFT on the LACHSA Campus
Led by YOLA conductor Juan Felipe Molano, the LA Phil and the LACHSA Orchestra will perform a side-by-side concert at Caroline’s LOFT on the LACHSA campus on Wednesday, September 23 at 7:00 pm. The program will include Mozart’s Overture to The Magic Flute and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7.
Caroline’s LOFT at Los Angeles County High School for the Arts is located at 5151 State University Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90032. This is an education concert with an invited audience, so seats will not be available for the general public.
Los Angeles Philharmonic Neighborhood Concert at Crozier Middle School
Presented by the Inglewood Council of PTAs, 2015/16 Dudamel Fellow Matthew Aucoin leads the Los Angeles Philharmonic in a neighborhood concert at Crozier Middle School on Saturday, September 26 at 6:00 pm. The program features Beethoven’s Coriolan Overture and Symphony No. 7.
Crozier Midddle School is located at 120 W. Regent Street, Inglewood, CA 90301. Free parking is available on-site. Tickets are available in advance at the Inglewood Public Library, located at 101 W. Moonlight Sonatas at Griffith Observatory
The LA Phil, Steinway & Sons and the Griffith Observatory present a rare opportunity to hear pianist Ray Ushikubo of the Colburn School play music from Beethoven on the front lawn of the iconic Griffith Observatory during a total lunar eclipse on Sunday, September 27 at 6:30 pm.
The Griffith Observatory is located at 2800 E. Observatory Road, Los Angeles, CA 90027. Space is limited. No advance reservations.

A brass ensemble from the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela performs at the Los Angeles City Hall Rotunda on Monday, September 28 at 12 pm. Programming details will be announced at a later date.

Chamber ensembles from the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela are joined by the trumpet section of the LA Phil for a free concert in The Rosenthal Theater at Inner-City Arts on Monday, October 5 at 6:30 pm. Programming details will be announced at a later date.

Take a Stand Symposium Concert with the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, Youth Orchestra Los Angeles and Teachers from El Sistema-Iinspired Programs from Across the Country
As part of the Take a Stand Symposium, the LA Phil hosts a free concert at Walt Disney Concert Hall on Wednesday, October 7 at 6:00 pm. Led by conductor Juan Felipe Molano, Youth Orchestra Los Angeles (YOLA) will perform Beethoven’s Symphony No.5, Movements III & IV and the Fidelio Overture. The concert will conclude with SBSOV conductor Joshua Dos Santos leading members of the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, YOLA and teachers from El Sistema-inspired programs from across the country in a performance of Beethoven’s Wellington’s Victory.

Presented by the Honorable Hilda L. Solis and led by SBSOV conductor Joshua Dos Santos, the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela will perform Beethoven’s Egmont Overture and Symphony No. 7 at Purpose Church on Thursday, October 8 at 7:30 pm.
Purpose Church is located at 601 N. Garey Avenue (at Holt Boulevard), Pomona, CA 91767. Free parking is available at the church. Priority seating will be given to ticket holders who arrive early.
