    Program Includes Beethoven and John Adams' Absolute Jest

    WHAT:

    The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association and public radio station Classical KUSC (91.5 FM) announce a live broadcast of the September 30 performance by Gustavo Dudamel and the LA Phil at Walt Disney Concert Hall. The broadcast begins at 8:00 PM (PDT) and will be hosted by KUSC's Brian Lauritzen and Alan Chapman. The concert will be broadcast live locally on the radio at KUSC 91.5 FM and as a live webstream at kusc.org. The broadcast will be available online at kusc.org as an on-demand stream for a week following the live broadcast.    

    The program begins with Beethoven's Coriolan Overture, then, as part of this season's celebration of LA Phil Creative Chair John Adams' 70th birthday, Dudamel will lead the orchestra and the St. Lawrence String Quartet in a performance of Adams' Absolute Jest. The program concludes with pianist Yefim Bronfman joining Dudamel and the orchestra for Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4.
