The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association continues CODA, the LA Phil's group for young music enthusiasts in their 20s and 30s, throughout the 2016/17 season at Walt Disney Concert Hall. CODA offers its members an exclusive opportunity to expand upon the Friday night concert experience with fellow music lovers and LA Phil musicians.

The LA Phil also presents LA Phil Music 101, the organization's music appreciation course designed for all audiences, Thursday, October 27, at 7:30pm and Wednesday, March 8, at 7:30pm, at Walt Disney Concert Hall. These sessions, intended for audiences ranging from those who know very little about classical music to those who are more familiar, explore a variety of topics intended to expand one's knowledge of classical music. Led by KUSC host Alan Chapman, each class includes musical examples from the LA Phil 2016/17 season, vibrant visuals and a Q&A.

Composers build their pieces by using, modifying, and expanding the musical forms they have inherited. In this presentation filled with musical examples and engaging visual aids, Alan Chapman demonstrates how composers lead listeners through the auditory landscapes they have created.
