Chamber Music Series Continues in March at Walt Disney Concert Hall

The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association continues its Chamber Music Society at Walt Disney Concert Hall on Tuesday, March 29 at 8 p.m. The series features members of the Los Angeles Philharmonic performing works by Mozart (Divertimento in D, K. 136), Rachmaninoff (Suite No. 2 for Two Pianos, Op. 17) and Philharmonic violinist Barry Socher (Adventures in Modern Musicological Archaeology).

For years, Professor Barry Socher has followed the example of sage and friend Professor Peter Schickele by digging up previously unknown music by long forgotten composers. His first discovery was early Classical composer Wolfgang Amadeus Schwartz and several of his works, including "The Monster and the Maiden" Quartet. Later excavations yielded "The Fugue-tive" by FBI Bach and "Prelude to the Afternoon on A Farm" by Debussy Fields. These and other favorites will be performed by the Julius Marx Memorial String Quartet and Friends, all members of the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
