About this Piece

The Mexican musician and composer Chucho Ferrer (1929–2011) made important musical arrangements for artists such as Agustín Lara, Pedro Infante, and Armando Manzanero.

Few Mexican musicians in the twentieth century achieved as much notoriety or had such an international impact as the popular singer and songwriter Agustín Lara (1897–1970). Prolific across such genres as bolero, ballad, and folk, he is best known for “Granada,” a song so enduring that it has been covered by the likes of Mario Lanza, Frank Sinatra, and Placido Domingo, and is still a standard in the vocal repertory.
