Starting in the 1960s, the Gustav Mahler Society of California brought together many of the composer’s most devoted fans in Southern California to honor his monumental career and compositions. Inspired by the group’s annual, daylong listening festivals around Mahler recordings, the LA Phil presents its own Mahlerthon as part of the Mahler Grooves Festival.
