Beauregard Chiasson
A recent graduate of Geffen Academy at UCLA, Beauregard (Beau) Chiasson is a composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist whose work ranges from classical to jazz to Latin. A member of the LA Phil Composer Fellowship Program from 2024-2026, Beau currently serves as the LA Phil Composer Fellowship Program's 2026 Sue Tsao Fellow Chair. His compositions have been performed by the Brightwork newmusic ensemble, the USC Orchestra, and LA Phil-contracted freelance musicians. He has received the Grand Prize in Composition from the International Youth Music Competitions, the Gold Prize for Original Composition in both the 2025 Couperin International Music Competition and the 2025 Max Bruch International Music Competition, and was selected as a finalist in both the 2026 ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Awards and the Penn State Ballora-Wang Young Composer Competition. Beau has also written music performed by his band, October, and his high school jazz band. As a film composer, he has scored eleven short films; his most recent project, Moon Boy, was named a semifinalist at the IndieX International Film Festival in Los Angeles.
In addition to his passion for music, Beau has worked in Dr. Brigitte Gomperts' laboratory at UCLA conducting stem cell research on cystic fibrosis and served as a 2025 Boys Nation Senator representing California. During the summers, he works as the Special Events Coordinator at Special Camp, a day camp for children and young adults with disabilities. This fall, Beau will begin his studies in the Harvard University–New England Conservatory Dual Degree Program, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Molecular and Cellular Biology at Harvard University and a Master of Music in Composition at the New England Conservatory, where he will study with Dr. Sid Richardson.
