Miguel Harth-Bedoya leads the Los Angeles Philharmonic in two nights of magic and music as Quebec-based Cirque Éloize makes its Hollywood Bowl debut on Friday and Saturday, August 2 & 3 at 8:30 p.m.

With their unique and contemporary approach to the circus, Cirque Éloize has entertained in more than 20 countries and given more than 1,000 performances since its inception in the 1980s. Now, the company shares its talent with the Hollywood Bowl audience in the production of "Cirque Orchestra," a skillfully combined program of classical music, contemporary dance, and acrobatics.

In 1993, seven young graduates of Montreal's National Circus School spun together their artistic energies and passion for circus to create Éloize. Named after the bright flashes of heat lightning seen on the Magdalen Islands' horizon on hot days, Cirque Éloize tours the world weaving together diverse elements of circus, theater, dance, and music. Since its founding, the company's two troupes have given more than 800 performances in over 200 cities worldwide. Excentricus, the company's second original production, garnered attention with performances at Scotland's Edinburgh Festival, Jerusalem's Israel Festival, and the Scènes Nationales network in France. Armed with international success, the company continues to promote the circus arts and awaken senses all over the world. These concerts mark the company's Bowl debut.

Los Angeles Philharmonic Associate Conductor MIGUEL HARTH-BEDOYA is Music Director of the Fort Worth Symphony and the Auckland Phiharmonia in New Zealand. As one of the most exciting young conductors in America, he has an active guest-conducting schedule, which includes appearances with the New York Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, Seattle Symphony, Quebec Symphony, and the Mexico National Symphony. Festival appearances include Grant Park, Tanglewood, Rencontres Musicales d'Evian in France, the Domaine Forget International Festival in Quebec, and the Musicarchitettura International Festival in Italy. Born in 1968 in Lima, Peru, Miguel Harth-Bedoya holds degrees in conducting from The Curtis Institute of Music and The Juilliard School. Harth-Bedoya last conducted at the Bowl in 2001.
