Community Support

The Affiliates play a vital role within their communities through a variety of events and programs.

Committee Fundraisers: Throughout the winter and spring, individual committees host fundraising events across the greater Los Angeles area in beautiful venues, from hotels and country clubs to museums and private residences. The diverse programming at these events offers incredible opportunities to experience LA Phil musicians and local artists in intimate settings, while socializing with like-minded music lovers and supporting the LA Phil.

Invited Rehearsals
Each year, all Affiliates (and one guest) are offered the opportunity to attend exclusive rehearsals at Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Hollywood Bowl.

History

The LA Phil Affiliates have supported the LA Phil for nearly a century, evolving alongside the orchestra and remaining among its most dedicated and involved patrons.

In 1923, the Women’s Committee was formed and became the first support group of the LA Phil. Over the years, additional committees were established as the LA Phil began performing "run-out" concerts throughout the greater Los Angeles area. Members of the various committees sold concert tickets, hosted fundraising events, and provided volunteer service to help promote the orchestra and encourage financial support for the LA Phil.

In 1967, the autonomous committees came under the umbrella of the LA Phil Affiliates. There are currently 13 committees and 600+ members.
