About this Performance
The first female conductor to hold a titled role with a BBC orchestra, Xian Zhang is guest conductor for this marvelous ensemble of young musicians. Together they begin with Beethoven’s lyrical concerto for a piano trio and orchestra. To conclude, they bring to life the dramatic, colorful, and unforgettable tone poem by Rimsky-Korsakov based on the story of Scheherazade.
