Sílvia Pérez Cruz is one of the most remarkable voices to have emerged in recent decades. In the words of Jorge Drexler, she possesses “a voice that defines a generation.” A composer as well as a singer, she has spoken the language of music for as long as she can remember. Raised among the popular musical traditions of the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America, she was also formally trained in classical music and jazz. Drawn to flamenco through what seems an almost instinctive connection, she sings with a voice and an expressive language entirely her own.

Between the ages of 4 and 23, Sílvia undertook extensive musical studies, including classical piano and saxophone, solfège, cajón, harmony, jazz and flamenco singing, improvisation, arranging, jazz saxophone, and composition. She graduated in Jazz Vocal Performance from the ESMUC (Catalonia College of Music).

She has taken part in countless recordings and artistic projects, collaborating with internationally acclaimed artists such as Gino Paoli, Stefano Bollani, Lluís Homar, Rocío Molina, Jorge Drexler, Hamilton de Holanda, Toquinho, Natalia Lafourcade, Lila Downs, Liniker, Maria Gadú, Liliana Herrero, Joan Manuel Serrat, and Lluís Llach, among many others. She has also performed with the Spanish National Orchestra under the baton of Josep Pons.

Together with double bassist Javier Colina, she revived the Cuban filin tradition in the acclaimed project En la imaginación (2011). She was also co-founder and lead singer of the group Las Migas (2004–10) and has performed as a duo with guitarist Toti Soler.

In 2025, Sílvia released a collaborative album with Portuguese singer-songwriter Salvador Sobral. Sílvia & Salvador (Warner Music) features songs written especially for the project by Jorge Drexler, Dora Morelenbaum, Luísa Sobral, Carlos Montfort, and other distinguished composers.

Later that year, Sílvia was awarded the Encomienda con Placa de la Orden de Alfonso X el Sabio, one of Spain’s highest civilian honors, presented by Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez in recognition of her outstanding contribution to culture.

In 2026, the Catalan artist received the Goya Award for Best Original Song, shared with Alba Flores, for “Flores para Antonio.” This year she also released Oral_Abisal (Sony Music Spain), her latest collection of original compositions. Following its extensive presentation tour across Europe, the project culminates in the most ambitious Latin American tour of her career to date, confirming Sílvia Pérez Cruz as one of the most singular and internationally respected voices in contemporary music.
